I would like to be the air that inhabits you for a moment only.

I would like to be that unnoticed and that necesssary.

I love Bee.
I love Nic
I love Gunner
I love words

it's unpredictable and I live for this.
the meeting of ocean against
the shore and the way sand
digs itself under your finger
nails. no amount of picking will
ever be able to remove all the
small grains of shell and rock
and everything that had to be
broken to become beautiful.
this is either ironic or some
kind of sign that I'm too far
in the clouds to catch on to.
I keep my fingers crossed
and hidden in the shadows
of pine trees. And the soft
weight of rain as it falls
into your hair, darkens it to
a shade that I can't find the
words for, is comforting in
a way that you could never
understand. it weighs you
down in the best of ways and
your hands are freezing from
the sharp, winter air. take deep
breaths, feel this all the way
into your lungs because this
is what it's like to be alive.
a sunset caving in, and I pray
that forever is just like this:
that it's cold nights filled with
warm thoughts and the comfort of
knowing that forever is distant
enough to keep me smiling.

Most of the time, I'm happy. Sometimes, I'm smiley. On occasion, I'm sad. There are always people who can snap me out of it though, and they know who they are. And they know how much I love them.

"Several years ago, sailors on long voyages used to leave a pair of pigs on every deserted island. Or they'd leave a pair of goats. Either way, on any future visit, the island would be a source of meat. These islands, they were pristine. These were home to breeds of birds with no natural predators. Breeds of birds that lived nowhere else on earth. The plants there, without enemies they evolved without thorns or poisons. Without predators and enemies, these islands, they were paradise. The sailors, the next time they visited these islands, the only things still there would be herds of goats or pigs. .... Does this remind you of anything? Maybe the ol' Adam and Eve story? .... You ever wonder when God's coming back with a lot of barbecue sauce?"
